Star Wars: Battlefront BETA Review

no_text_-_Star_Wars_Battlefront_Key_Art.0.0

The Star Wars: Battlefront beta is a breathtaking, magnificent, and stunning first-person shooter that gives any thrill seeker an amazing adrenaline rush.

After a long weekend of playing, it really leaves you wanting and begging for more and more content to be released.

But with only being a beta, Star Wars: Battlefront has some flaws that could need fixing.

Survival Mode - Solo or Co-op

Star Wars survivalOne of those fatal flaws happens to be Star Wars: Battlefront's campaign.

It is a shortcoming in the game that is exposed even more when you compare it it's multiplayer and other first-person shooter games.

With being 60$ game, it must have some sort of great campaign attached to it.

Besides, most PvP games are free these days anyway, and no matter how fun Star Wars: Battlefront is, I see no reason to buy something that I can somewhere else for free.

The beta is amazing, sure.

There are some balancing issues that need to be fixed and there is some work to be done between now and launch date.

But lets face facts, survival isn't enough for a platform like this.

As spectacular as Battlefront is, a story campaign would draw us in even more immensely.

An excellent single player mission would be the most immersive Star Wars experience to-date.

Playing as both an Imperial and a Rebel would really provide an outstanding experience for the player.

Now, there is most likely some uncovered things on the campaign that we don't know about yet.

But it looks like we will have to wait to find out what those things are when it is released.

Multiplayer

Defend or Bring Down AT-ATs in Walker Assault ModeThe main thing I see Star Wars: Battlefront Beta examining is the multiplayer aspect of the game.

The way the PvP is organized, you really get the feel of what it is truly like to be a Rebel or an Imperial on the Battlefield.

As an Imperial, you are able to show and prove your dominance and might on the Battlefield, as you are forced to relentlessly attack the enemy with bombardments around checkpoints.

As a Rebel, you must rely on quick wit and excellent timing in order to control the Battlefield.

Being a Rebel in Star Wars: Battlefront gives you an magnificent feel for what it is really like to be the underdog and you will quickly realize that playing toe to toe with the Empire is not an exceptional idea.

The multiplayer aspect of the Beta consists of two game modes, Drop Zone and Walker Assault.

Drop Zone

In Drop Zone, your team of 8, whether it be the Rebels or the Imperials, will have to capture, control, and defend Drop Zones (checkpoints).

These Drop Zones are "dropped" from the sky and are your ticket to a victory.

Whichever team captures the most Drop Zones, wins the battle.

Walker Assault

Defend or Bring Down AT-ATs in Walker Assault ModeStraight from the legendary Battle of Hoth, Walker Assault is a game mode focusing on the Empire's ferocious AT-AT's, also known as Walkers.

If you are playing as a Rebel, your mission is to take down those Walkers!

Unfortunately, your meager blaster is no might for the power of an Imperial Walker, so you and your team must call in Y-Wing Bombers by activating Upload Stations located on the map.

Once you have reached an Uplink and defended it long enough, the Y-Wings are called in to weaken the Walkers.

During this period of time, you will be able to damage the Walker until you destroy it or the time runs out and you move to the next phase of the Battlefield.

If you are playing as an Imperial, your job is to escort your Walkers safely along its cataclysmic path.

In order to provide a safe way for your Walkers, you must stop the Rebels from launching there Y-Wing Bombers into the air.

To do this, you must constantly assault the Rebels with your better tactical advantages in order to force a retreat.

If you succeed in preventing an Uplink from being activated, it will eventually run out of power, and the Rebels will be forced to withdraw to find another Uplink Station on the map.

Final Note

Personally, I think Star Wars is utilizing the beta so that they can be sure that it can handle and support a multiplayer feature of the game.

Then, when release date comes, the campaign (hopefully) will blow us out of the water like we've never seen before.

It looks like we won't know until next month and maybe, just maybe, we'll have a really big treat on our hands.
