21 Big Changes Coming To Destiny in Year 2

This post was originally found at Now Gamer.

September 15th, Bungie’s 3rd Destiny expansion will be released. On that day, Year One is officially over, and Year Two begins. Here are all the major changes due to happen to the game on that magical day. Eyes up, Guardian.
  • No matter what level you currently are, the game will take your gear and potential level into account when TTK hits, and transfer you into Year Two accordingly… TL;DR – if you’re already 34, you’ll remain 34 for the expansion.
  • New ‘relics’ can be equipped – one of them shown was the Arc Blade: a physical weapon that allows you to defend against Void or Solar attacks.
  • The game has improved its vanity settings – allowing you to create an avatar to show off in the Tower if you desire, complete with/without helmet, and holstering a specific weapon for bragging rights.
  • You can finally equip new Ghost Shells, which will allow for easier harvesting of planetary materials, or even boost your stats!
  • Light level has changed: it’s now an aggregate of your attack and defense rating, taken from all of your items equipped.
  •
  • On the character inventory screen, the Strength/Intellect/Discipline stats have been clarified and include numerical data for the cooldowns of each ability they affect (get that Praxic Fire exotic ready, y’all!)
  • We can all now hold 32 quests…
  • …which can be turned in at any time you like!
  • All your class items (capes, bonds, sashes) have perks built into them.
  • Vault Space will be doubled (!) for both weapons AND armour (!!)
  • Factions can now be ‘pledged’ to, and can only be swapped between once per week – reputation is gained at the same time as Crucible/Vanguard rep
  • Any and all faction rep carries over from Year One to Year Two
  • Reputation packages (which you receive on faction level up) will now definitely contain at least one legendary item, and have increased chances of dropping a shader
  • Vanguard/Crucible marks have been amalgamated into ‘legendary’ marks – whilst you can only hold two at a time, there is no weekly limit to how many you can accrue
  • You can now get Nightfall tier rewards from playing the Crucible (we went a bit mad when we heard that!) You’ll have to complete 5 weekly bounties first, BUT IT’S WORTH IT
  • Any exotic you’ve already had in your inventory in-game (even if you’ve broken it down) will be available to re-craft from an Exotic collection in the Tower
  • Some Year One exotics are being re-vamped and re-stat rolled for Year Two
  • Numerical damage figures have been bumped down, but that won’t actually affect the damage you deal during play
  • The Cryptarch will sell engrams that can be traded fro legendary marks
  • The Gunsmith will now let you test out weapons (unlocking them in the end) and even give you bespoke quests
  • You can consume legendary weapons into your Exotics to ‘infuse’ them, and create even more powerful items
